Easy Money With Youtube Videos?

 

The main star of my first video was my cat Siiri - although the contract negotiations with him turned out to be quite challenging in the final games.

I uploaded my cat video to Youtube. I clicked "yes" to all the ad serving questions, i.e. I commercialized my video . The ads started showing right away and Youtube remembered me with an even more encouraging email: "That's how Airi likes it! The video is now on Youtube."

In order for an author to earn money from ads displayed on their videos, they must join the Youtube Affiliate Program. You can easily join in your Youtube channel settings.

Under the terms of the affiliate program, Youtube promises to pay the video author 55% of the net revenue they self-verify. The percentage seems fair, but the pricing of the ads or the criteria for confirming the net income is not mentioned on the Youtube website.

 

The blinking bucks in the eyes start to fade more and more as I get to the next section of the Partner Agreement: "In order for a video author to receive their share of advertising revenue, they need to link their Youtube account to Google AdSense ." The joining and paying process is confusingly multi-step. So ease and speed stop at the moment you start talking about money.

Youtube Video Ad Revenue Payment Steps

1.            Linking an AdSense Account to a Youtube Account (24 to 48 hours)

2.            Address verification (only possible after accruing $ 10 in advertising revenue)

3.            Waiting for Google Earth PIN (2-4 weeks)

4.            Confirmation of payment method (again you should earn 10 €)

5.            Reaching the revenue limit (advertising revenue is paid to the video creator only when the advertising revenue has accrued € 70. Payments are made approximately 30 days after the revenue limit is reached)

On top of that, even if you cancel your contract, you'll still need to accrue $ 10 in advertising revenue before the cancellation limit set by Google is reached.

The dull reality for the tubett commercializing his first video is further confirmed by the phrase in the Partner Agreement: "YouTube does not have to pay you any revenue that may be associated with your Content during a period when you do not have a valid payment method."

I am so preoccupied with the multi-generational nature of the Partner Agreement and AdSense Terms and Conditions that I ask a representative of the Youtube owner, Google, to comment on the accuracy of my interpretations. However, interviews will not be granted from Google.

The cat video had garnered fifty views in a couple of weeks. Even a seemingly modest € 10 in advertising revenue, let alone reaching the € 70 payment limit, can obviously take months.

A lone amateur doesn't seem to succeed in this market either.

Youtube advertising in Finland is already a million-dollar business

The Multi-Channel Network, or MCN, collects Youtube channels from individual video makers into its network and acts as an intermediary between Youtube and the video makers. All money from ad screens to the video creator goes through the network. The nerve-wracking nuts with the terms of commercialization will be the concern of MCN. Through the network, video authors can also enter into agreements directly with advertisers. The relationship between MCN and the video creator is a bit similar to the relationship between the gig seller or the Manager and the performing artist.
